Right when I pulled the rod out of the box it came with the line very tight and bent. And the rod was also bent to the side so now the rod is permanently bent to the side and it will stay like that. Otherwise it is a good rodThis is a VERY good combo deal and I have a feeling that I will be buying more of these in the future.I am reluctant to even give this review a 1 star. But I did because the rod isn't bad. But the reel is absolutely terrible. I literally just got this delivered about 5 min ago and the reel won't even work. I opened up the inside of the reel and the gears inside have teeth broken everywhere. What garbage, blows my mind they would even sell reels like this. But if you're looking for a non combo pole, this pole isn't bad. But now I have to go guy a separate reel and it's going to cost me more than I originally wanted to spend. Don't waste your money on this combo.Awesome for troutNeeded to find an ice fishing combo. This was great in a pinch but I would not suggest it to anyone who will ice fish on a regular basis. You will need to re-spool the the line and find a better way to attach the reel to the rod as the rubberbands slip off. Unit works good for someone who will ice fish once a year.As with most rod/reel combos the line on the reel is not very good. I expected that and replaced it before I went fishing the first time. Love the rod. It is a lot of fun ice fishing with it.Who does not like fishing, especially in the snow and Ice, Great product. easy to store in my truck for on the road fishing.
