F2963A Fuel Pump Module Assembly - High Performance Replacement for Smooth Engine Operation - Perfect for Car, Truck & SUV Upgrades

I was wary about buying this pump because the price is so much lower then the auto parts stores- But compared to $280, I figured it was worth the risk.It was well packaged and the pump was in plastic. It was dirty like it had been sitting on a shelf collecting dust before it was put in plastic. However, I wiped it off with a towel and it was still new.My pump that failed had been very loud and the fuel gauge did not work on it. I was very excited to see the fuel gauge work when I installed this. It is also a very quiet pump.I compared the ACDELCO bad one to the new one and for the most part they are the same thing. One of the 2 wire harnesses were different, however the new pump came with a new harness with hardware to hook it up. The new harness had the same wire colors so it was very simple to hook up. They did include shrink tube to cover the wire connections, but there is something about running a heat gun next to the open fuel tank I did not like so I used electrical tape.A couple of notes: Dropping the tank is MUCH MORE DIFFICULT then raising the bed up (on a pickup obviously) to replace the pump. There are 4 bolts on each side of the bed that come out and you just jack up the bed giving yourself room to work (about 2-3 feet). I left in the rear bed bolts loose so that the bed would not move to far from the original alignment.The new pump comes with a thick oring that gets compressed when you install the new pump. I found that doing this dry was almost impossible. So a little lube on the oring made it easier. You have to put a lot of pressure down on the pump to get it in position.The whole job should take 2-3 hours in the garage if all goes well.So far I have 150Miles on this pump and it is still working great. I am happy I went with this instead of the $280 pump the parts store wanted to charge. It does come with a 1 year warranty BTW.
